Pre-K: 4 to 5 years old
Our curriculum follows the Massachusetts Early Learning Guidelines for preschool. This age is one year apart from kindergarten.
In our program, Pre-K children thrive through learning experiences such as:
- Introduction to cursive handwriting
- Mastering fine motor skills (cutting, using scissors, gluing)
- Identifying some letters of the alphabet
- Gripping pencils, crayons, and markers
- Recognizing names of colors and body parts
- Following multi-steps directions
- Managing bathrooms needs
- Cooperative play and learning in small groups
- Imaginary play and pretend games.
- Hands-on activities such as art and crafts
- Musical experiences
- Storytelling
- Monthly themes focused on children’s needs
- Reading books that promote principles and values like love, empathy, respect, teamwork, tolerance, patience and self-esteem and good manners
- Math, science, and social science experiences and activities
- Encouragement to develop responsibility, independence, confidence, teamwork skills, and other critical self-care skills such as expressing their needs and feelings
- Spanish language immersion
